Bye Bye, Basketball Season

Leo has not watched one game of the NBA finals but he’s been following it in the newspaper. He knew the Celtics and the Lakers were battling it out.  I was so relieved that it went to seven games—that meant more pictures in the paper.

“Where is the net?” he asked of this picture.

When I asked him who he thought won, he said, “The Lakers!”

He was right!!

Grandpa Ron tells us the draft is up next so hopefully there will be more pictures. Good thing Leo is also a fan of baseball.

Leo, if the pro sports career doesn't work out, you can be a sportswriter. They pay you to attend the games. Meanwhile, you can watch the World Cup, or let grandmother introduce you to the upcoming Tour de France.

Hip Hon Ron: That's a great idea. He could combine his love of sports (that he must have inherited from you) and his gift for writing (which hopefully he will inherit from his mommy).

Exactly my thoughts! Leo will be a sportswriter...ya know, his Great Grandpa Art was a sportswriter for his college newspaper while he was working on his law degree...got the degree, passed the boards, than began a life long career in front office baseball. And for a while he even managed an ice hocky team, working double duty for the baseball owner!
